Everyday another child and or teenager (kid) is molested by family members, close family friends, coaches, teachers, baby sitters, people of so- called high status and others. As parents we prepare our youth for a crazed wild eyed wicked character, but we never prepare them for the monsters we call uncle, friend, and neighbor .Sexual abuse statistics show that 90% of sex offenders had close relationships with the families of their victims, while 30-40% are abused by family members. Unfortunately for the victims there are more efforts made to keep the abuse a secret than to bring the actual perpetrator deservedly to justice.
Due to a lack of parenting skills there is a form of emotional abuse, that takes place in some homes. This abuse is usually a learned behavior passed down over generations , that allows a parent to hold a child in contempt for every mistake they make, and due to this abuse , it makes these children an easy target for predators , because they are looking for acceptance from anyone who will provide it, and sex offenders love this type of victim. It is important to build a strong bond with your children, allow them to tell you what's going on with them, they need to know they have your love and support especially if they are victimized.
Sexual predators are master chameleons they always know what to say and do to gain the trust of parents and youth, they are often very generous , buying gifts , providing access to places and people , giving money, and willing to take your child on trips. If this fits the description of someone you know, take the time to truly understand , why this adult has such a strong bond with you're child, intervene with your presence and ask questions.
The time has come for us to lift the veil of silence from over our faces, and speak the names of these monsters that prey on our youth, monsters who've caused generational damage to millions. Keeping their secrets provides them with courage to continue molesting, and each time you turn you're heads that silence rewards them , and they move on to the next victim. Don't protect them expose them.
